Looking forward

03/03/09 15:01

There are few very exciting events coming up for me! In just two weeks I'm going into Calgary with Melissa for Jesse's birthday. It happens to fall on St Patrick's Day, which allows me to justify massive amounts of green alcohol consumption. Hey, I'm part Irish.

Then, at the end of March/beginning of April, I am getting a bunch of dental work done. Which is exciting, but also stressful. Especially with the attached bill. Seriously, should have been a dentist...

Immediately followed by a trip to Echo Lake to visit Jason and Calee... *Hopefully* the dental surgery won't leave me in rough shape. Whether it does or not, I *will* be having a good time in Montana. There's just simply no way I'll waste a trip to paradise.

Can you believe I've actually planned that far ahead? That's like... two months!

My mom is coming over tonight to watch a movie on my huge home theatre screen. I just recently upgraded to a high-def projector, and am using my PS3 to watch Blu-ray. It's freakin sweet.

And, Transformers is her favorite movie. Just happens to be the first high def movie I bought. :)

The difference is noticeable - enough to make it worth it. Especially for video games. I just rented Resistance 2, which is one of the highest rated video games ever created (one of only 4 games to ever receive a 10/10 rating on gamespot). I am PUMPED to play. Get ready for some serious digital carnage.

Key gnomes

01/12/09 11:33

I totally lost my keys in an acre of snow. I dive bombed a picnic table with snow on it two feet tall. Halfway back up the hill, I realized my keys were gone. And thinking back, I couldn't remember when I did have them. So... we started looking.

I was optomistic about the whole thing. Even though I realized the chances of me finding my keys were slim to none. Melissa and Dad both told me there was no way I'd ever find them, and we started thinking about a Plan B.

But, I ninja'd those keys back into my pocket.

Essentially: I rock.

A link to the past

I attended a dinner theatre tonight, which I thought went pretty well. The most interesting part was meeting so many people that I've not talked to for a very long time.

It's funny to see so many people that moved away come back to town. I remember when I moved to Calgary, I thought for sure that I would never come back. But, here I am. I bet it was similar for everyone else. Right now, this feels like home.

Obviously, looking at the dates of the posts on my blog, I have not been actively posting for quite some time.

This is mostly because I heard through the grape vine that one of my previous employers made business decisions about me based on some of my personal writings. Not only is this illegal, I felt violated.

However, I believe it is important to keep a record - at least for myself - of the things happening in my life. The writings on the public posts will contain less private information, and be more general topics.

I have created a private blog also, that I can write my personal entries into. If you would like access to it, you will have to contact me to have an account setup. I don't have an issue sharing my personal life with anyone interested, but - learning from the past - those things that are personal to me should not be for public viewing.

Expect more updates in the near future.
